In July 2014 we launched a fully responsive website for the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.
The brief for the new site was to redefine the organisation’s messaging and vision in line with their new brand positioning, and to provide a platform for publishing a wealth of data and expertise into geo-politics.
The Foundation deals with complex and sometimes difficult subject matters, so we spent a lot of time with their content teams gaining a deeper understanding of the topics they work on. Through those conversations we gained knowledge of their global target audience which ranges from supporters and students to governments, NGOs and other professionals.
Based on these insights and needs of the end user, we created a set of tools to aid the experience of reading in-depth long form content. One of those features is a ‘snippet’ tool, that allows users to save small bits of content for reference, which they are also able to export as a pdf or email to someone directly from the website.
We also designed an extensive data visualisation language to help easily convey complex data and information in harmony with photography and copy. The Data section under Religion & Geopolitics is where it truly comes alive with a custom-built interactive map.
The website is built on Drupal and all the content is managed by the team at the Foundation. They update the website on daily basis, so designing and building a simple, easy to use content management system was one of their key requirements.
