AllofUs crafted over 20 museum interactives and an accompanying website for the Wedgwood Museum in Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent.
The exhibition takes visitors on a guided journey that spans three centuries of Wedgwood history, offering many opportunities to get up close and personal to the collections.
Working with a wider team that included specialists in copywriting, education, exhibition design, branding and infrastructure, AllofUs designed and built all the digital interfaces and traditional AV that deliver content rich context and interpretation to support the exhibits. The website was designed in partnership with KeepThinking who also developed the CMS and managed integration with the collections database.
For consistency and cost efficiency we developed a holistic software solution with a visual and interactive language that could be used throughout the museum to ensure that visitors would become quickly familiar with and comfortable engaging with all elements of the digital interpretation.
The software was all built within a 3D environment to ensure that the way it moved and behaved enriched the simplistic interface required for the museum audience and for the fact it was delivered by touchscreen.
The exhibition includes 14 touchscreens devoted to specific topics, scripted audio narratives, film pieces, educational tools and playfully engaging interactive installations; including one that allows visitors to navigate a virtual 3D tour of the original Etruria Factory, and another that invites visitors to create their own portrait medallions which are captured and uploaded to the website.
